asset- and non-asset-based cooperation with manufacturing corporations

A non-asset-based cooperation does not require investments in assets by the manufacturing corporation.


The manufacturing industry in general is one of the carbon intensive industries and a significant user of heat, steam and electricity which are mainly derived from the combustion of fossil fuels. Numerous corporations of the manufacturing sector have already invested in own energy generation assets or have entered Joint Ventures with specialized waste-to-energy or RDF power plant operators to ensure the energy supply based on their specific needs and demand. We have conducted feasibility and market studies for such Joint Ventures (manufacturing and waste industry) in different European Countries. In addition we have developed waste-fuel sourcing strategies and pre-negotiated the agreements with different suppliers on behalf of our manufacturing clients.


While the gas substitution is a tough and complex issue, the substitution of coal and oil is easier and faster. Our expertise and plant design base on BAT and proven technologies. Such technologies allow corporations to gradually switch from 100 % fossil fuels to 0 % fossil fuel. The waste generated in the thermal process is utilized in the construction sector and reduced to nearly 0 % - closing the loop.


We are specialized in the field of energy, waste and circular economy. Combining our knowledge and expertise in all three areas we conduct analysis, feasibility studies, technical design of power plants, biogas plants, waste-to-energy plants, environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and business modeling.


We cooperate with manufacturing corporations based on a service or a works contract. If our clients decide to establish a Joint Venture or PPP we occasionally become also part of the shareholder structure (EPC), depending on the specific investment and Country.   • Investing in assets

    An alternative to the non-asset-based cooperation with us is the asset-based cooperation. In this case  a manufacturing corporation plans to invest in assets, such as waste and fuel storage and preparation facilities, co-firing techniques for waste fuels, sludges and sewage as well as biomass, combined energy plant and  energy efficiency.   • Preparing for ETS changes

    • We provide clients with expert opinions based on the expected ETS provisions and  client´s specific and current fossil-waste mix, prices/gate-fees, volumes and qualities of waste-fuels, sluged and sewage and/or biomass.
    • We provide clients with market studies, assessments and benchmarking for waste-fuel management compliant with the expected ETS provisions (changes expected by 2026).
    • We conduct feasibility studies for the installation of flexible BREF-technologies and fuel management.
    • We manage as Third Party Fuel Partners all suppliers, diversify your fuels and ensure the supply while the diversification reduces the risks and costs.

  • Ensuring waste fuel sourcing

    • We support clients towards diversification of  waste fuel suppliers based on Third Party Management Agreement (waste fuels, sludges and sewage, biomass, etc).
    • We determine and specify the required volumes, qualities and prices for the supply chain. In case of a Third Party Management Agreement with us we will be managing the entire fuel-management, storage, handling.
    • We conduct cost and risk analysis regarding logistics and storage for long-term vs short-term delivery.
    • Based on our experience the waste fuels represent an excellent alternative to fossil fuels in terms of costs for fuel and costs for CO2 emissions, but such fuels are limited in volume and quality. In addition, there is no market price for waste fuels (compared to coal) leading to price sensitivity and bottlenecks in supply. On top, in the EU this attractiveness is about to change due to the expected changes of the ETS scheme. Manufacturing corporations will need to prepare for the changes and work with Third Party Waste Fuel Suppliers. We are able and capable of supporting clients throughout this process.

  • Reducing energy costs & emissions

    • We enable an ETS-compliant fuel switch (from gas and coal to waste fuels, sludges and sewage and biomass) based on flexible and efficient BAT-technologies. Such technologies are available and proven to gradually switch from 100% fossil to 0%.
    • We prepare, initiate and manage with the teams of our clients the ETS-compliant waste fuel delivery, logistics and handling (expected changes by 2026).
    • We support the introduction of CCU/CCS capacities.
    • We offer  Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for green energy.
    • We design concepts and measures improving thermal energy efficiency and utilization of heat.

  • Reusing process heat

    • We provide the manufacturing industry with technical and commercial analysis on existing total heat generation, the reuse-levels and the dissipation-levels with the target to maximize the reuse of dissipated heat and contribute to cost-reduction and higher cirularity rates.

  • Diversifying material & fuel supply

    • In the last years the fuel supply has become volatile and the costs for fossil fuels have increased. With latest developments regarding Russia the pressure on coal and gas is high.
    • The price increase relied on two factors: the market price for fossil fuels and the price for CO2 emissions. Both increased over the years. 
    • In the upcoming years the fossil fuels prices are expected to decrease as the tensions level off. While the prices for CO2 emissions are expected to increase, leading to higher costs for fuels as of now.
    • We provide the manufacturing industry with material recovery capacities and support the decrease of raw materials by increasing the percentage of secondary raw materials in the production process of plastics, oil, paper, etc.
    • We analyze, design, purchase and commission recycling capacities for the manufacturing corporation. Which can be as a stand-alone in corporation assets or as  Joint Venture with specialized recycling corporations (throughout EU).
    • We provide manufacturing corporations with assessments and benchmarks on their circularity rates compared to others in the industry.

  • Purchasing green reliable energy

    • We provide industrial corporations in the EU with green energy. We offer PPAs for manufacturing corporations on the EU market. 
    • The energy in generated via certified renewable sources: wind, PV, biogenic waste, sludges and sewage.
    • The energy supply might be contracted based on the load curve of the company and over a period of more than 15 years.
    • If a company choses to work with us on "asset-based" investment, we are able and capable of co-investing in joint green energy power parks.
